Anatomy I (Elizabeth Caron, D.O.) | 2027 Seminar for External Applicants
Reframing anatomy through a biodynamic lens.
Anatomy I revisits anatomy from a biodynamic perspective. The course examines the osteopathic concept of “segmentation” in relation to embryological development, then traces how this shows up in adult anatomy and in the treatment process itself — through both lecture and hands-on work. Drawing on the theories of William G. Sutherland, D.O., and the research built upon them since, this intensive course covers topics such as thoracic respiration and sacral development.
This is an intensive course taught by a faculty member visiting from the United States. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria below are welcome to attend from outside TSO.

About the Course
This course revisits anatomy from a biodynamic perspective. Students examine the osteopathic concept of segmentation in relation to embryological development, then explore how it appears in adult anatomy and in the treatment process itself, through both lecture and hands-on practice. This intensive course is built on the theories of William G. Sutherland, D.O.
Coursework that may help deepen understanding beforehand includes Anatomy One, BioBasics, Phase/Step I, and the foundational cranial course. (These are suggested references, not required prerequisites.)
