Stephen Kisiel, DO<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Osteopathic Education and Training<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kisiel received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York in 2001, after receiving a bachelor\u2019s degree in Biology from Springfield College. He went on to serve a one-year Osteopathic Rotating Internship at Berkshire Medical Center then continued on with his training at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Family Practice and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine\/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM\/OMM) where he served as Chief Resident for two years. Dr. Kisiel actively trained in hands-on Traditional Osteopathy under the mentorship of James Jealous, DO<\/a> from 1998 through 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osteopathic Practice<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Upon completing his residency training in 2005, Dr. Kisiel returned to the Berkshires and began Berkshire Osteopathic Health practicing both as a primary care physician and osteopathic consultation specialist treating all ages.

Dr. Kisiel has a strong interest in providing quality osteopathic medical care to underserved populations both at home and abroad. He actively participated in the Biddeford Free Clinic in Biddeford, Maine and has been on numerous Medical\/Humanitarian aid missions to Haiti, Jamaica and Guatemala organized through the Springfield College Newman Community and DO Care International<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kisiel has also developed a Free Osteopathic Children\u2019s Clinic in La Urena Dominican Republic in conjunction with the Dominica School and Orphanage<\/a> where he leads groups to work and train in Pediatric Osteopathy with an orientation to service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osteopathic Medical Education<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kisiel is involved in both undergraduate and graduate medical education at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine<\/a> (UNECOM) and Berkshire Medical Center<\/a> (BMC).  He serves as the Regional Assistant Dean for UNECOM at BMC and holds a UNECOM Faculty Appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Dr. Kisiel oversees the medical education for 3rd and 4th year Osteopathic Medical Students completing their clinical clerkships at Berkshire Medical Center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition he is the Osteopathic Director of Medical Education at BMC where he serves as the Program Director for the Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Residency Program<\/a>.   Osteopathic Medical Students, Interns and Residents frequently work alongside Dr. Kisiel and the other practitioners at Berkshire Osteopathic Health to learn hands-on osteopathic manipulation skills in treating all types of medical conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Massachusetts Osteopathic Society<\/a>, American Osteopathic Association<\/a>, American Academy of Osteopathy<\/a>, and the Osteopathic Cranial Academy.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kisiel has been teaching osteopathic work both nationally and internationality since 2009 and is on the teaching faculty for the Biodynamics of Osteopathy<\/a> program developed by James Jealous, DO, BioBasics, Berkshire Osteopathic Study Group<\/a>, Swiss Osteopathic Center for Kids<\/a>, Bavarian Pediatric School & Clinic for Traditional Osteopathy<\/a>, Osteopathische Kinder-Stiftung in Kassel, Germany<\/a>, OZK – Osteopathic Center for Children – Vienna<\/a>, ABC Brazillian Children’s Association<\/a>, Biodynamics Association Japan<\/a>, Les Enfants De l\u2019Osteopathie EDO Belgium<\/a>, Tokyo Osteopathy Center for Children<\/a> and is serving as Dean and Head of Curriculum at the new Tokyo School of Osteopathy.  Dr. Kisiel enjoys working as regular teaching faculty at osteopathic children’s clinics around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr.DONALD VINCENT HANKINSON, D.O.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Donald V Hankinson, DO, graduated from The New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985 after completing a 1-year Fellowship in Osteopathic Principles & Practice. He has been in practice since 1988, providing consultations for Osteopathic care, with an emphasis on Cranial Osteopathy and the Biodynamic model. His clinical experience also includes 5 years as an Emergency Medicine physician and 15 years as a General Family Practitioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the Director of The Division of Osteopathic Medicine at Maine Medical Center and is a founding member of The Portland Osteopathic Children\u2019s Clinic, which provides free Osteopathic care to children who are uninsured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2012, the Osteopathic Cranial Academy bestowed upon him the great honor of presenting the Sutherland Memorial Lecture, which has since been translated into both French and Italian. In 2018, he was recognized as a Fellow of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy. And in 2023, he was invited by the SCCO in England to be the 12th<\/sup> presenter of the bi-annual Rollin Becker Memorial Lecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald began studying with James Jealous, DO in 1990, for whom he began teaching courses in The Biodynamic Approach to Cranial Osteopathy in 2004. He has also been faculty for the Biobasics program since its inception in 1991, which is designed to offer Osteopathic students and residents an affordable and informal setting for learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald has studied and taught with the New England Still-Sutherland study group since 1989, which was led by Anne Wales, DO until her passing in 2005. He has also been privileged to teach, over the years, for numerous Osteopathic organizations in the US, including the OCA, SCFT, AAO, MOA, and UNECOM, as well as, to Osteopaths in England, France, Belgium and Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osteopathy: The Sacred Science of Healing<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dr Andrew Taylor Still was quite clear about his vision of the principles upon which Osteopathy stands and regarding the path the Osteopath must take to allow this science of healing to realize it\u2019s potential. So I have always taken to heart the definition he offered of his discovery. Osteopathy, he told us, is \u201cnot a war for conquest, popularity or power. It is an aggressive campaign for Love, Truth, and Humanity.\u201d Here, then, are the practical and trusted reference points which have guided me in applying the \u201cLaws not framed by human hands\u201d in the care of my patients and in my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was Love which provided Dr. Still with the inspiration for his discovery of Osteopathy. The Health we seek to find as Osteopaths is the incarnate expression of God\u2019s Love manifest in the natural world and the living human organism. <\/strong>Love is at the heart of our journey and is the Light which guides our way in assisting our patients to find healing. To the extent to which our thoughts, words, and actions are infused with Love, they are an authentic expression of Dr Still\u2019s sacred science.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

     Yet, the question remains, how do we provide this Osteopathic care? Dr Still told us that \u201cTo Treat\u201d had but one meaning, \u201cto know you are right and do our work accordingly.\u201d And it is nature\u2019s truths, the living principles inherent in all of Life\u2019s form & function, that will provide that guidance. It is only when we \u201cblend ourselves with, and travel in harmony with, nature\u2019s truths\u201d, that we can truly be of service. This service must be grounded in a thorough knowledge of the living anatomy and physiology, as well as, an uncompromising fidelity to ongoing learning and exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

     Once we can see our patients as an ongoing expression of the Divine Intention, the fundamental issue of the true purpose of Osteopathy is revealed. It is our devotion to the service of Humanity, which gives meaning to our Love and Nature\u2019s Truth. Dr Still advised his students, \u201cWe pride ourselves on the truth that we are daily giving to suffering humanity, health and comfort, peace and happiness, relief from pain, with good-will toward all men. This is the sole object of our school, and we should strive to maintain it in its stainless purity.\u201d The science of Osteopathy ultimately derives its true meaning, and acquires its clear direction, from its devotion to Humanity.      The promise of Osteopathy\u2019s gift will lie fallow if left only in the theoretical realm or when limited to the resolution of structural imbalance. This healing science only becomes real through its living engagement with the miracle of Life itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After graduating from the Nursing Department of Saitama Medical University Junior College in 1993, worked for four years in the cardiac surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and emergency transport wards (before the establishment of an ER) at the university\u2019s affiliated hospital. Was involved in the ward guidance of nursing students during their clinical training. Subsequently, worked for nine years at a general hospital in Tokyo in postoperative management wards for surgery, internal medicine, gynecology, and in a psychiatric ward. Worked to promote nursing diagnoses and a new style of nursing records.
