The type of course you take will vary depending on whether you are starting to learn osteopathy for the first time, have a national medical license, or have attended another osteopathic school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbEarn a Certificate of Completion in a 3-year Osteopathic Foundations Course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbAfter completing the Foundations Course, students can progress through Masters Courses and clinical training at their own pace, aiming to achieve the WHO standard of 4,200 hours of total study time (including 1,000 hours of supervised clinical time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbHours of previous study, including lectures by osteopaths with a D.O. or equivalent level, and domestic seminars taught by Japanese instructors officially certified by osteopathic organizations may be counted towards the total number of hours of study and applied to 4,200 hours needed for graduation . *Seminars hosted by individuals and study groups where the educational standards cannot be confirmed are not eligible for this credit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbHowever, students are required to take a certain number of required courses and clinics (clinical training) each year in order to graduate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbThe complete 4,200 hours of total study \u2014 including 1,000 hours of supervised clinical time \u2014 must be completed within a maximum of 10 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbType I-B exempts students from previously completed courses such as basic medicine, basic osteopathic courses, allowing them to complete the study hours required to meet the requirements for the internationally recognized WHO Diploma in Osteopathy (D.O.) in a shorter period of time than Type I-A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fb During the three-year foundational program, students are required to attend at least one TSO-approved pediatric osteopathy course, held at the Tokyo Osteopathic Children\u2019s Clinic (TOCC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 In addition, as a compulsory requirement of the foundational program, students must complete 136 hours of supervised clinical practice at the TSO Group Clinic.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Characteristics of Type II<\/span><\/div>
\n

\u30fbAbbreviated curriculum for medically qualified individuals<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbStudents must complete approximately 2,000 hours of study, including 1,000 hours of supervised clinical practice.For those with a national medical qualification, relevant supervised clinical hours completed during their professional training may be recognized. However, all students are required to complete at least 200 hours of new supervised clinical practice under a qualified osteopath to fulfill TSO\u2019s graduation requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbThe 200 hours of supervised clinical practice consist of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fb In-course Clinic: 64 hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbTSO Group Clinic: 136 hours(may also take additional in person courses with clinic component.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By meeting these requirements, students can obtain an internationally recognized WHO-compliant Diploma in Osteopathy (D.O.) within three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbType II-B is exempt from the basic osteopathic course based on previous osteopathic course work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u30fbFollowing the graduation with Diploma in Osteopathy Type II Students may continue their osteopathic studies in the Master Course taking only the subjects they choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the Acceptance of Outside Participants<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the Tokyo School of Osteopathy (TSO), we accept non-degree participants and individuals wishing to take specific courses, provided that seats are available, and only from the following categories:
Graduates or current students of osteopathy schools that meet WHO standards
Licensed advanced healthcare professionals, including medical doctors and dentists<\/p>\n\n\n\n
